Another downside are the future objects, but I guess the creators thought it would be too easy without having to search for those. It was a nice try but I guess it wasn't possible to do it any other way, at least I can't think of anything else right now. The immobilize part never really bothered me. and the steel mill is vague for me, I only managed to get there once.
Dyson's house is another level I like, you have to destroy his research and get a key you'll need in Cyberdyne (to acquire the T-800 parts). Enrique's place is easy, but the drive there is a killer. But I usually get Sarah first, and leave her and John some place and get the rest of the future objects. If you know your way around the mall, you can finish the level in 2-3 minutes without being hit. Even if you know the controls, once you travel by car it can get pretty tough. A downside is that it can be a real pain getting where you want to go. The levels I like most are the bar, John's house and most of all, the mall. I think most locations are shown in the game, unlike (as the reviewer said) the Arcade Game, which missed a lot of locations. The intro where Arnie arrives, having to find John's address and ID, being left alone in the mall if you don't shoot anyone, etc. One of the things I like in this game are the little details. So it's probably mostly for nostalgia's sake. I was expecting the Arcade Game, like most I had never heard of the platform game.
